Refundable tax credit that helps Ontario seniors pay eligible public transit costs. It reimburses 15% of up to $3,000 in expenses, for up to $450 per year.
Eligibility conditions
Reside in an eligible province (ON)
Be at least 66 years old
How to apply
File the Ontario income tax return and claim the credit on Form ON479.
Be 65 or older on the last day of the previous year and live in Ontario at the end of the claim year.
Keep receipts, personalized PRESTO reports or proof of payment for eligible transit services.
