Provincial monthly benefit for low-income Alberta seniors. The amount depends on income, marital status and accommodation type; for July 2026, the basic maximum annual amount is $3,946 for a single homeowner, renter or lodge resident, and $5,918 for a couple.

Be at least 65 years old
Eligible employment status
Net family income under $53,800
How to apply
Apply to the Alberta Seniors Benefit program if you are not already receiving the supplement automatically.
File an income tax return each year; eligibility is based on income and marital status.
Report accommodation type, because amounts differ for homeowners, renters, lodges, continuing care homes and other residence categories.
