Support for seniors · NU
Subsidy helping senior homeowners in Nunavut offset the high cost of heating fuel, up to 4,000 litres per year. It is for people aged 60 or older living in Nunavut whose household net income does not exceed $100,000 and who are not on income support. Eligible seniors are no longer required to turn in receipts.
Eligibility conditions
Reside in an eligible province (NU)
Be at least 60 years old
Net family income under $100,000
Eligible housing tenure (homeowner)
How to apply
Apply to the Nunavut Department of Family Services.
Own your home, be 60 or older and live in Nunavut.
Report household net income: the benefit is set according to that income and the community you live in.
