One-time payment made to the estate or another eligible person on behalf of a deceased CPP contributor. The basic amount is $2,500; for deaths occurring on or after January 1, 2025 a $2,500 top-up may apply when the deceased never received a CPP retirement or disability pension, for a maximum of $5,000.

How to apply
Apply within 60 days of the date of death; the executor applies on behalf of the estate.
Provide the deceased contributor's social insurance number and the death certificate.
Confirm the deceased contributed to the CPP for at least three calendar years (or ten, depending on the contributory period).
