Manitoba's last-resort assistance, paid when the monthly cost of basic needs and shelter is more than the household's financial resources. The amount depends on family size, ages and relationships. As of July 2025, total monthly tax-free income — provincial assistance plus federal benefits — ran from $911 for a single person to $4,126 for one adult with three children. Liquid assets are exempt up to $4,000 per person, to a maximum of $16,000 per family; the first $200 of net monthly earnings is exempt, then 30% of the excess.
