Retraite Québec payment to parents of a child under 18 whose physical impairment or mental-function disorder significantly limits them in their daily activities, for a foreseeable duration of at least one year. In 2026 the supplement is $241 a month per eligible child, whatever the family income and whatever the severity of the impairment; it is not taxable and is indexed each January. Under 40%–60% shared custody, each parent receives half. Parents must already receive the Family Allowance for that child.
Eligibility conditions
Reside in an eligible province (QC)
Have one or more eligible dependent children
Have a dependant with a disability
How to apply
First receive the Family Allowance for the child: that is the precondition for the supplement.
Apply to Retraite Québec with the medical reports establishing the impairment and its foreseeable duration of at least one year.
Expect half the amount under 40%–60% shared custody: each parent receives $120.50 a month.
