Family support · AB
Alberta subsidy for families with total income under $90,000 a year who hold a secured spot in a licensed child care program. The parent must be working, looking for work, in school, or have special needs — or have a child who does. For kindergarten through grade 6, the monthly subsidy runs from $644 (income under $50,000, facility-based care, 100 hours) down to $92 for a school-age child in the $85,000–$89,999 band, with an extra $100 a month for extended hours.
Eligibility conditions
Reside in an eligible province (AB)
Net family income under $89,999
Have one or more eligible dependent children
How to apply
Secure a spot in a licensed child care program first: the subsidy cannot be claimed without a confirmed spot.
Apply with total family income from line 15000 of the most recent CRA Notice of Assessment.
Report extended hours: at least four extended hours a month give an extra $100 per child.
