Retraite Québec financial assistance paid ON TOP of the supplement for handicapped children, for families whose child has very significant disabilities or receives complex medical care. The amount is the SAME for everyone, whatever the child's condition and the family's income: in 2026, $1,215 a month at tier 1 and $808 a month at tier 2, for each eligible child. Tier 1 conditions are stricter than tier 2. The amounts are indexed in January and are not taxable.

Have one or more eligible dependent children
How to apply
Already receive the Family Allowance for the child.
Complete the application for the supplement for handicapped children requiring exceptional care and have health professionals fill in the reports.
Retraite Québec sets the tier; the amount depends on neither family income nor diagnosis.
