Federal money deposited directly into a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) for children in low-income families, with no contribution required. $500 the first year of eligibility, then $100 per eligible year up to age 15 (lifetime maximum $2,000, claimable retroactively). Eligibility depends on family income and number of children.

How to apply
Get a Social Insurance Number (SIN) for the child.
Open an RESP with a participating provider and request the Canada Learning Bond (no contribution required).
