Federal grant that comes on top of the part-time students' grant when that one does not meet financial need. You must be enrolled part-time in a qualified program at a designated school and have a dependant under 12 at the start of the study period, or over 12 with a permanent disability. Until the end of the 2026 to 2027 school year it reaches $2,688 a year, never more than assessed need. Cut-off income runs from $98,017 for a two-person household to $161,321 at seven or more.

How to apply
Apply for student financial aid with your province or territory: assessment is automatic.
Report your dependants: under 12 at the start of the study period, or over 12 with a permanent disability.
Do not confuse it with the equivalent grant for FULL-TIME students with dependants, a separate program.
