Financial assistance for low-income Québec households that spend too much of their budget on housing. For October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026, the allowance can reach $170 per month depending on family situation, income and the share of income spent on housing.
Eligibility conditions
Reside in an eligible province (QC)
Be at least 18 years old
Net family income under $48,840
How to apply
Check eligibility with Revenu Québec: household with at least one dependent child or a person aged 50 or over, Québec residence and eligible housing costs.
File the required Québec income tax return and gather lease, statement of rent or ownership information.
Apply for or renew the shelter allowance every year, no later than September 30 of the relevant period.
